Thermocouple temperature sensors are suitable for applications with a temperature range between -250°C and +1600°C. Thermocouples provide fast response times and are ideal for high temperature measurement.
Thermocouples consist of two dissimilar conductors that contact each other at one or more points, when the temperature at one of the points differs from the reference temperature at other parts of the circuit a voltage is produced.
Thermocouple temperature sensors can be ordered in a variety of different configurations including fixed stem probes and spring loaded sensors for use with a thermowell. These are available with threaded, flanged or hygienic process connections. To suit application where a fast response time is critical these can be manufactured with a reduced tip.
All typical temperature sensor termination options are available including ceramic terminal blocks, 4 to 20mA temperature transmitters and local displays all of which can be mounted in the thermocouple head or remotely via a junction box.
These can be approved to ATEX Exia, ATEX Exd and IECEx Exd for use within hazardous area environments.
